Our cultural and social roots in the heart of Europe and in the German “Mittelstand” are the guiding principles of our success. Our commitment to a free and democratic constitutional order and to a united Europe is among the cornerstones of our corporate philosophy. The better our society and we ourselves master the challenges ahead, such as climate change, the development of a democratic society, demographics and technological change, the greater the development potential of MBB across generations.

Our Commitment

We are committed to the common good by providing long-term support to selected institutions or one-off funding for individual initiatives. This commitment is based on the results of our business activities. Suitable projects as well as the duration and scope of our commitment are jointly determined by the founders of MBB. To date, financial support has come exclusively from dividends paid by MBB SE, which the founders receive and pass on. The support provided by MBB SE itself is limited to donations in kind.

Below are some examples of our commitment:

SYMPOSIUM OECONOMICUM MUENSTER
In 1986, our founders were among the founding members of this economic congress at the University of Münster, which has been held annually since 1986.

PROTALENT – THE GERMAN SCHOLARSHIP OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MÜNSTER 
The founders of our company both studied at the University of Münster. The ProTalent scholarship provides financial support to talented and committed students. MBB is a long-standing sponsor.

IRENE AND FRIEDRICH VORWERK FOUNDATION 
The Irene and Friedrich Vorwerk Foundation is the foundation of the founders of our subsidiary Friedrich Vorwerk. It is an expression of the couple's deeply felt moral obligation to use part of their assets for charitable purposes. The foundation brings together all their diverse social activities under one roof. Its mission is to promote charitable, cultural and scientific projects as well as youth and elderly care. As a shareholder in the Friedrich Vorwerk group of companies, MBB is committed to always providing the Irene and Friedrich Vorwerk Foundation with ideal framework conditions.

FRIENDS OF THE NATIONAL GALLERY BERLIN 
MBB supported the Friends of the National Gallery Berlin for three years during the reopening of the museum.

WHU EUROMASTERS 2024
In 2024, our subsidiary Hanke Tissue supported the WHU Otto Beisheim School in organising the Euromasters with donations.
